The GrowProbe is a moored water-quality sensor for farm sites. It logs temperature, turbidity, light and current (via tilt angle) to a schedule, and is set up and configured through the same PEBL App used by the SubCam.

What you can do with a GrowProbe

  • Continuous water-quality logging. Temperature, turbidity and light across their full operating range.
  • Current speed and direction from tilt. Reports tilt angle (0 to 85°, roughly 0 to 2.5 knots) and heading (0 to 360°).
  • Flexible logging rate. From 10 readings a second to one a day, with burst and averaging modes.
  • Built for the sea. POM-C enclosure with titanium hardware, rated for continuous submersion to 50 m.
  • Long deployments. Up to 320 days on a single charge at a 30-minute sampling rate.

Set up in four steps

  1. Power up. Unscrew the float to reach the power button, then press and hold it for 5 seconds.
  2. Connect to the PEBL App over the GrowProbe's own WiFi network.
  3. Configure your settings. Calibrate the compass and turbidity sensor, then set your deployment details and schedule.
  4. Deploy. Screw the float back on and deploy the probe.
