Warranty

This warranty covers PEBL kit that you have bought. If you are renting kit from us, the Hire Terms and Conditions apply instead.

Effective date: 22 June 2026

What this warranty covers

We warrant that PEBL kit will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the warranty period below. If a defect appears in that time, we will repair it, replace it, or at our option refund it.

If we repair or replace your kit under this warranty, the repaired or replacement item stays covered for the rest of your original warranty period, or for 90 days from the date we return it to you, whichever is longer.

Warranty period

ItemWarranty period
PEBL kit (for example the SubCam)12 months from delivery
Rechargeable battery6 months from delivery
Consumables and accessories (SD card, charger, cable, seals, desiccant)Not covered, except for faults present on arrival

The battery is a wear item, so it carries a shorter period. Some loss of battery capacity over time is normal and is not a defect.

What is not covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Water ingress, flooding or corrosion caused by user error, such as a sealing bung left open, a seal or O-ring not seated correctly, or the housing being opened.
  • Use beyond the product's stated limits, including deployment deeper than the rated depth (50 m for the SubCam).
  • Impact, crushing, abrasion or other physical damage.
  • Biofouling, or corrosion caused by inadequate cleaning or maintenance.
  • Consumables and normal wear, including SD cards, chargers, cables, seals, O-rings and desiccant.
  • Loss of battery capacity over time through normal use.
  • Any kit that has been opened, modified or repaired by anyone other than PEBL, or where tamper-evident seals have been broken without our agreement.
  • Loss or theft, including loss at sea.
  • Cosmetic marks that do not affect how the kit works.
Water ingress, and where we draw the line

Our kit is sealed by parts that you maintain, such as the bung and the O-rings. If water gets in because of a manufacturing defect in the housing or a seal, that is covered. If water gets in because a seal was not maintained or seated correctly, or because the housing was opened, that is not covered. The SubCam maintenance guide explains how to keep the seal sound.

What you need to do

To keep this warranty valid:

  • Follow the user guide and the maintenance steps for your kit.
  • Keep the tamper-evident seals intact and do not open the housing.
  • Keep your proof of purchase. We may ask for it when you make a claim.

How to make a claim

  1. Email hello@pebl-cic.co.uk with your kit's serial number, your proof of purchase, a description of the fault, and photos or a short video if you can.
  2. We will confirm whether the issue looks like a warranty claim and, if so, send you return instructions and a return address.
  3. You cover the cost of sending the kit to us. If the claim is valid, we cover the cost of returning it to you.
  4. We aim to assess returned kit within 10 working days of receiving it and will keep you updated.

Repairs outside warranty

If your kit is outside warranty, or the issue is not covered, we still offer paid repairs and refurbishment wherever we can. As a community interest company, we would rather repair kit and keep it in service than see it replaced. Email us and we will quote.

Your statutory rights

This warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your legal rights. If you bought as a consumer, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected. If you bought as a business, your rights under the relevant sale of goods legislation are unaffected.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profit, and our total liability is limited to the price you paid for the kit.

Governing law

This warranty is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
