Maintenance

After every deployment​

  • Clean the lens with a soft cloth and fresh water or isopropyl alcohol. No abrasives.
  • Rinse the SubCam in fresh water.
  • Dry the body, the lens and the area around the USB-C bung with a soft, clean cloth.

The USB-C port sits behind a sealing bung. Only open it when you are ready to charge or remove the SD card. With the bung off, the SubCam is no longer sealed, so do not leave it exposed in damp or wet conditions. Once you have finished, dry around the port thoroughly, refit the bung, and store the SubCam indoors at room temperature.

Storage (longer than a month between deployments)​

  • Charge to roughly half full before storing.
  • Keep it cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. Use the supplied IP67 carry case.
  • Top up the charge every few months so the battery stays healthy.
